The Mime of Mick, Nick and the Maggies by James Joyce

Introduced by Ollie Evans

Available on back-order

The Mime of Mick, Nick and the Maggies is an earlier version of what would become the first part of the second book of Finnegans Work. Whilst the fragment consists of about half of the final published chapter, it represents the bulk of its structure and content. Initially published as a novella by Servire Press in 1934, this new release reproduces the piece in its original form for the very first time.

The first in a series of such Contraband republications, these novellas and short stories present contemporary readers with the opportunity to experience Joyce’s Work In Progress as his first readers would have done; permitting them to experience something of the adventure that culminated in his last masterpiece. This edition follows the text of the novella of 1934, and is prefaced with a new, specially commissioned scholarly-introduction by the poet Ollie Evans.
